The Post Covid-19 world and new opportunities
The whole world is fighting the Covid-19 pandemic. The circumstances are unprecedented
where most sectors are witnessing massive layoffs due to the declining sales
and revenues. A huge vacuum is created in the economy and people
are forced to look for new and better
ways to make money. Also in times when people are forced to recede to their home’s many people have founded a new
and better working option in network marketing business. As the economy
continues to struggle, its instinctual that people are turning towards a more
convenient option of selling products from home. People who join direct selling business are
satisfied with the model of business and how it helps them in making thousands
of dollars a month without leaving their homes.
There are some scams that run in the MLM industry like any other business but it's time to rethink our view on MLMs. All MLM companies are not pyramid schemes that only benefit a few at the top. MLM is also a very powerful model for entrepreneurs to grow their businesses.
The marketing style of MLM had evolved highly with the evolution in technology. The management of MLM business or networks has become easier and efficient with technological developments like MLM Software. While in a place where huge manual efforts were required before technological developments like MLM Software platforms had made it easier and smoother to manage or control larger MLM networks.
Avoiding socially connecting with people are important in the current scenario. Today’s MLMs can reach a million people around the world through various social media platforms. E-brochures, content marketing, product articles, online sales pitches etc are some of the many ways people can make use of the technology to market their products. Not only that it provides a way to market the products maintaining social distancing but technology can also help you in reaching a larger number of people compared to the reach one can get in doing so manually.
According to the Direct Selling Association (DSA) 51% of the 51 companies that participated in a survey in early June said that COVID-19 had a “positive” impact on their 2020 revenue. The percentage grew to 59% in a later survey. The president of Direct Selling Association Joseph Mariano says “some sellers have inflated the potential rewards of investing in their companies”. “You inevitably have a few overzealous people saying things that perhaps they shouldn’t,”. “When you have a vulnerable population of people who have lost their jobs or are concerned about losing their jobs, the fact of the matter is direct selling is generally a modest supplemental income opportunity”. Mariano also said that the DSA has worked with the Better Business Bureau to monitor claims about products’ benefits and sellers’ potential earnings. DSA reports claim that between 2007 and 2009, the number of MLM sellers rose from 15.1 million to 18.2 million.
The MLM world implies a glamorous and safer alternative for
the economy that is struggling with
waning growth as the recession took its toll. According to a recent knowledge-based piece of
writing, apps such as Uber are struggling due to shared transportation having
been hit hard by COVID-19. Meanwhile, other companies dealing with delivery
services and grocery shopping are flooded with new workers.
The DSA president also mentions that the MLM Industry or business is not a “Get richer quicker” and the MLM’s is to be taken as an “activity” rather than a job.
